Train Your Pup’s obedience classes are intended for adult dogs with no major behavioral issues and owners who want help with general dog obedience training. Unlike most obedience classes, the courses at Train Your Pup’s enrichment center focuses on providing an enthusiastic learning environment where both dog and handler are learning new behaviors while having fun.
Some of the most common complaints owners have about their dogs are: jumping, pulling, and not listening. No matter what your end goal may be, Train Your Pup can help you achieve your goal.
It is our goal to ensure that training does not become mundane. This way dogs are more willing to learn new behaviors and owners are more likely to practice with their dogs on a regular basis. Not only do the games engage students, but they also improve skills by practicing techniques in a different setting thus preparing dog and owner for outside adventures.
We believe our obedience course is essential for communication and avoiding behavioral problems. Train Your Pup has a foundation in positive reinforcement techniques so your beloved fur child will be rewarded for pleasing his or her family. Classes do not focus on receiving titles, but rather developing a well behaved and socialized member of the family Canine Good Citizen award are merely an added bonus.
The Train Your Pup Enrichment Center offers beginner obedience classes, puppy socialization, field trip classes, nose work, and an Enrichment class.
In most cases, new students will be placed into the foundation and bond building course to ensure appropriate timing and communication. Once the owner feels comfortable, Train Your Pup trainers will recommend one of our other courses to help you and your dog increase your bond. No matter what the class you choose, both you and your dog will be challenged.
Classes are geared to help owners and dog maintain a partnership during multiple distractions.
Puppy Foundation and Socialization
Give your puppy the best start possible! Not only will your puppy get to play in age-appropriate play groups every week, we will also expose your puppy to lots of new and scary things in a positive way.
Using reward-based training methods, we will teach your puppy the foundation behaviors he/she will need to grow into a confident, well-trained member of your household.
Classes are for puppies up to 6 months and run for six weeks.
Foundation and Bond Building
Our Foundation and Bond Building is a group class that meets once a week for 6 weeks and also includes one at home session. Our goal for this class is to help owners and pets create and bond.
This class is unlike any obedience class you have ever taken. We try to create real life scenarios so your dog learns to live within your lifestyle, not the other way around.
Class focuses on:
- Proper introductions to people
- Loose leash walking
- Walking with distractions
- Sit, down, and stay commands
- Proper dog interactions
- Leave it
- Go to place
Field Trip Class
Our Field Trip is our version of an Intermediate Obedience class. Classes meet once a week at a variety of different Dayton area dog friendly locations. The purpose of this class is to practice the techniques from the Foundation class in a variety different locations.
Class focuses on:
- Walking through crowds
- Extended stays during distractions
- Sitting for petting
- Recall during distractions
- Leaving a variety of distractions

To ensure each dog and handler get the best out of each class we ask you to contact us to determine which class is best, as well as ensure that our training philosophies are compatible. After you have spoken to one of our trainers then we will send you a link to sign up for class. Class sign up is done securely through our online portal system.
